How to Find Unlisted YouTube Videos
Unlisted YouTube videos occupy a middle ground between public and private: they don't appear in search results or on a channel's public page, but anyone with the watch link can view them. PromoFinder's scanner can surface a subset of these — specifically those the creator has added to a public playlist.
What Makes an Unlisted Video Discoverable
YouTube gives creators three visibility options: public, unlisted, and private. Unlisted videos are intentionally shareable — the creator wants anyone with the link to watch, but doesn't want random search traffic. Because they're shareable, some creators add them to public playlists: tutorials in progress, bonus content for email subscribers, or preview clips for upcoming projects.
When an unlisted video appears inside a public playlist, the YouTube Data API exposes its metadata — including its ID, title, and visibility status — to any authorized caller. That's the mechanism PromoFinder uses. There is no guessing, no brute-force ID scanning, and no access to content the YouTube API considers private.
How to Use the PromoFinder Scanner
The tool accepts exactly one type of input: a channel identifier. Accepted formats are:
- →Channel URL —
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - →@handle —
https://www.youtube.com/@CreatorNameor just@CreatorName - →Channel ID — the raw
UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxstring
Once you submit a channel identifier, the scanner resolves it to a canonical channel ID, fetches available public playlists within scan limits, then iterates through each playlist's video entries. Any entry whose privacyStatus field returns unlisted is included in the results you see.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
- 1.Open the Unlisted Finder at /unlisted.
- 2.Paste your channel identifier into the input field. Copy the URL directly from the browser address bar while viewing any page on the target channel.
- 3.Click "Search". If available, your first research search uses the free preview. A spinner shows while the API fetches playlist data.
- 4.Review results. Each returned video shows its title, thumbnail, and watch link. Click the watch link to open it on YouTube.
- 5.Scan again later. Creators update playlists over time. Additional fresh scans use credits; check current costs before searching.
Understanding Coverage Limits
The scanner finds discoverable unlisted videos — not all unlisted videos. A channel may have dozens of unlisted videos, but only those added to public playlists are reachable via this method. If the creator keeps unlisted videos off of public playlists (common for private client work or password-gated content), those videos will not appear in results.
Zero results do not prove a channel has no unlisted videos. Playlist coverage, API availability, and scan limits can affect results.
About the Free Research Preview
PromoFinder offers one free research preview per browser and network combination. This preview is shared across all research tools on the platform — the unlisted scanner, the promo finder, domain search, and others. If you have already used the shared preview, an additional fresh scan requires credits. Credits are available on the credits page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the unlisted video finder actually scan?
It scans the public playlists of the channel you enter. Any video in those playlists whose YouTube visibility status is "unlisted" is returned with its title and watch link.
What inputs does the unlisted finder accept?
The tool accepts a full YouTube channel URL (youtube.com/channel/UC…), an @handle (youtube.com/@channelname), or a bare channel ID (UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
Can I search by video keyword or video link instead of a channel?
No. The scanner requires a channel URL, @handle, or channel ID as input. It does not accept keywords, video watch links, or playlist URLs as starting points.
Why might a channel return zero unlisted videos?
Either the channel has no public playlists, none of their public playlists contain unlisted videos, or any unlisted videos on the channel have not been added to a public playlist by the creator.
Is there a free scan?
Yes. Each browser and network combination gets one free research preview shared across all PromoFinder research tools. Additional fresh scans use credits available on the credits page.
